The official surface says the virtual girlfriend learns and grows with interaction, remembers conversations, celebrates achievements and provides comfort. A system may keep the visible transcript, retrieve selected profile facts, summarise an old session or merely sound consistent because the original character card remains in context. Each mechanism can improve a conversation, but they do not produce the same sense of continuity.

Test recall with facts that are harmless and easy to score. Give the character a fictional appointment on Thursday, a preferred drink and a reason you dislike a particular film. Return the next day without restating them. Later, change one fact explicitly and see whether the correction replaces the old version. A companion that repeats the first fact forever has storage but poor updating; one that recalls only after a hint may still be useful, but the limitation should influence what you pay. Images, voice and video must feel like the same DarLink character

DarLink places image generation, voice and video beside chat, creating a more ambitious promise than text alone. When Bond Circuit checked DarLink on 14 August 2026, the visible monthly tab listed Essential at $12.99 per month, Advanced at $27.99 per month and Ultimate at $49.99 per month. The page also offered quarterly and yearly choices, but we retain only the prices that were unambiguous in our capture. The gap between Essential and Ultimate is $37 each month, large enough to make feature selection a buying decision rather than an afterthought. Confirm currency, tax, immediate total, renewal amount and included tokens on the final checkout screen because those details can change after our observation date.

Start by pricing a workflow, not by admiring a tier. Write down whether you actually need community chat, custom creation, images, voice or video and how often you expect to use each. The middle plan is a useful diagnostic: anything locked above it should justify almost twice the monthly spend, while anything absent below it must matter enough to justify leaving Essential. DarLink’s terms say subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next cycle. A discount on a longer plan cannot compensate for buying allowances you do not yet understand, so one month is the rational evidence-gathering unit for most first-time buyers.

Tokens can turn a clear subscription price into an uncertain total

DarLink’s separate refund page says monthly and annual subscriptions provide a set amount of tokens per billing period, while the public FAQ explains that tokens unlock premium interactions and content. The important unknown is the practical exchange rate: how many units a useful image, revision, voice response or video costs, whether a failed generation is charged, and whether unused balances expire or roll over. Cancellation is available; a change-of-mind refund generally is not

DarLink’s August 2025 terms say web subscribers can cancel in account settings or through support, while Apple App Store and Google Play purchases must be managed in the relevant store. Access continues until the end of the paid term and the next cycle should not be charged. Crucially, deleting the DarLink account or removing an app does not itself cancel an app-store subscription. Treat cancellation and deletion as two separate jobs, and keep the confirmation for each.

The terms describe purchases as generally final and non-refundable, while allowing DarLink to consider a request made within 24 hours when use has been minimal. The dedicated refund page is firmer: it excludes accidental purchases, change of mind, voluntary cancellation, unused time or tokens and user-requested deletion. It identifies fraudulent charges, platform errors and a without-cause termination by DarLink as eligible situations, subject to review. Because the documents use different support addresses and slightly different wording, do not purchase on the assumption that a 24-hour cooling-off period is guaranteed. Applicable consumer law may still provide rights beyond the policy.

DarLink stores conversation content, and the privacy details deserve a quiet read

DarLink’s privacy policy says it collects account information; optional gender, birth date and interests; text and voice messages; images sent during chats; device and usage data; and cookie data. It says conversation content is stored to maintain history and may be analysed to improve responses and features, giving anonymised conversation data used for AI improvement as an example. The policy names Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel among cookie partners. One-to-one conversations are described as private from other users, which is not the same thing as saying no service provider or internal process can handle them.

The policy says DarLink does not sell or rent personal data, while permitting sharing with operating providers, affiliates, authorities when legally required, and a successor in a business transaction. Account deletion is available in settings or through support; active-database information is described as removed, with backups or legally required records potentially remaining for a period. Use a fictional name and non-identifying scenario until those trade-offs feel acceptable. The chargeback clause is the policy detail most buyers will miss

The dedicated refund policy warns that if a user starts a chargeback or payment dispute, DarLink may disclose relevant account and communication records to the payment processor or bank to validate the charge. It says this can include private messages or content sent or received through the service when considered necessary. That provision does not mean every dispute will expose an entire history, but it is material in a product where the conversation itself may be sensitive. Readers should know it before treating a chargeback as a privacy-neutral alternative to contacting support.

The practical response is good record keeping, not panic. Capture the checkout total, plan name, renewal date and cancellation confirmation. If a billing problem occurs, use the documented support route first and describe the transaction without volunteering unrelated conversation content. It also says the service is not medical care, mental-health counselling, emergency support or crisis intervention. Those warnings are sensible because an attentive conversational style can make an invented answer feel more trustworthy than it is. Use the companion for roleplay, reflection or entertainment without outsourcing consequential decisions to it. If the character gives a confident answer about health, money, law or safety, verify it elsewhere. If you are in danger or experiencing a crisis, contact local emergency or qualified human support rather than continuing the chat. DarLink’s policy language does not tell us how the model behaves in every difficult exchange, so a cautious user should also test whether the character accepts a boundary, redirects prohibited requests and stops a scenario when asked.

Who should choose DarLink—and who should keep comparing

Choose DarLink when creation is part of the fun. It offers a visible community catalogue, detailed character premises, a dedicated generator and several modes that can surround the same fictional person. The public prices and policies make it more inspectable than many products in this niche, and that transparency is valuable even where the rules are strict. A methodical visual experimenter can learn a great deal in one month by keeping one character, one continuity anchor and one token ledger.
